Well, well; what is on my mind this week? Not much really.

Not unless you're from Wisconsin, and you want to talk about the Packers!

Wow! I still can't believe it. The Green Bay Packers are going to the Super Bowl, and they're going to win!

I was 5, going on 6 last time the Packers won the Super Bowl. I don't remember it at all. I wasn't even aware of the game at the time.

As I was growing up, in Cudahy, which by the way is home of the "Cudahy Packers," I heard the phrase "The Pack is Back" every year it seems. Each new season brought new hope of returning the trophy to Green Bay.

For a while there I must admit that I had given up on them, after coming close several times only to have my hopes dashed away, I had become cynical. Until last year, when the Pack beat the 49ers in the playoffs. That game changed everything. I knew that this team could do it and I was behind them all the way this season.

It really sucks that Brooks was taken out so early in the season, but even without such a key player they still made it look easy. You can take 'em there next year Robert.

It just don't get any better than this.

My cousin-in-law delivers pizza. Last week when he got to work there was a note on the board that said "Everyone works Sunday." He went directly to the owner and said you can fire me now if you want, but I am not working Sunday," he continued "I've waited 30 years for this, and I'm not missing it."

Julie and I are going to his house tomorrow for the game. He still has a job on Monday; he is the only exception to the everyone must work rule, and the company is sure to lose money without such a great pizza boy. Grin.

For a while there I thought that maybe coach Holmgren would hold them back and not let it be a rout. Now I'm not so sure about that. I now am going with Packers 49, Patriots 10. It is now 8:10 a.m. Sunday January 26, 1997 -- ya ya, I know I'm late again with this column but I had company drop in last night.

This is one Super Bowl I will remember for a long time. Even if as I believe they can, the Packers do it again next year, this one's special.
