Julie's Cousin, Butch

I've mentioned a few times before, Julie's cousin, Butch; and as you know, I like to link to pages which further explain certain points. Butch is sitting here with me now and we are going to attempt to capture his "essence" so that I will have something to which I can link from future stories in which I mention him.

I've decided to go with a Q and A format, so for the first question, let's ask Butch if there's anything he'd like to say to my brother, Kevin.

Q: So, is there?

A: Hi, Kevin. I said everything I wanted to say to him on the phone, before you told me: "hang up the phone, it's getting expensive."

Q: Okay . . . so what's your favorite TV show?

A: I got two.

Q: Okay, what's the first one?

A: I'll have to go with the old favorite, "Hogan's Heros."

Q: And the other?

A: "X-Files," of course! You know that.

Q: And I know that your favorite kind of music is heavy metal, too, but what's your favorite band, currently?

A: Well, I'll always like Metalica, but I like what Megadeath's doing right now.

Q: And your favorite radio station?

A: Z104 (104.1 FM). I like it because it's an album rock station. They play the hard rock I like.

Q: And when do you listen most to the radio?

A: I listen during work, because I spend so much time in my car.

Q: Where do you work?

A: I'm getting pretty loaded here.

A: What? On two beers?

A: I didn't eat anything today.

Q: You want some cold Tombstone Pizza?

A: I oughtta slap you so hard your hair falls out.

Q: As those of us "lucky" enough to know you know, you are a pizza delivery guy. I suppose pizza is the last thing you want on your day off. What kind of food do you eat on your day off?

A: Burgers and Subs.

Q: Do you want to take a food-break?

A: Uh uh. I got my vitamin-B. Need one?

Q: I'm asking the questions here -- but while you're over there . . . but getting back to this so-called story, what kind of car do you drive?

A: A 1990 Volkswagen Corrado-G60. G-60 is the super-charged 1.8 liter 4-cylinder version.

Q: Hmm, versions; just like software. Can you upgrade?

A: (Sigh.) Many ways, one way is you can buy the SLC version, which has the VR6 engine -- a V-6. Or, you can buy various kits to improve engine performance and the suspension--

Q: How fast does it go?

A: The speedometer goes to 140; three years ago, I had it up to 137 with some pedal to spare.

Q: Were you loaded?

A: I'm not always loaded -- just on my days off.

Q: What else do you do on your days off?

A: Stuff.

Q: How old are you?

A: Put down 21.

Q: You're older than that.

A: Oh, no. Not at all.

Q: This is getting pretty long, do you have any idea how to end it?

A: No, not really . . . yeah, I do have a way to end it -- but you're not going to like it.

Q: What is it?

A: Okay, girls: if you want to get in touch with me, just email Greg. He'll print it out for me and I promise I'll reply within a week or so. Or, you can find me at Home Tap Sunday, Monday and Thursday nights. I'll be the one singing -- with intensity.
